Why we choose to write things down

I think that the list is endless when anyone tries to figure out why we write things down. I have a few reasons myself. Or rather, I will share a few of them. A lot of times I struggle to properly express myself to other humans. Even more so when it’s done with spoken words.

For me writing tend to be easier for when I want to express complex things. Writing things down also helps me to express myself through written poetry. There are times that I will also write down notes as an example for either studying or help in remembering things better.

I also write my ideas down sometimes for the many animations, games, inventions, shoe and swim ware design, and all my other ideas that I create in my head all the time. However, I also sketch my designs down too which is like taking notes but in a different language/format.

I see writing in itself the foundation of all the creative arts or at the very least, one of the foundations. I mean, haven’t you ever found yourself compelled to simply express what is within you and you find yourself choosing to write as one of the methods of going about it?
